The state can't blackball you unless you are a convicted felon (Rick Gerard, Lenny Meminger, anyone). The state has little to do with playoff assignments and the like. They put the tournaments on, and that is it. Assigners can blackball you, but I think the state has other things to worry about.
On a somewhat related note, that goofy AAU-like alternative to the MHSAA is dying the slow, painful death it deserves. The sun has a better chance of rising in the West tomorrow than that traveling AAU circus has of getting off the ground.
