TC,

If the Lions don't sell out Thursday (and that fraud of an orginization refuses to say how many tickets are left), I'm not sure that history is enough to overcome the present reality. I agree with alot of your points on this issue, but the NFL isn't (and shouldn't) base their decisions on the past.

I have to say, you make a convincing arguement. I am of the belief that the game should be switched to a different city, for the simple reason that the nation deserves to not be sickened by hideous football at 12:30 every Thanksgiving. Having said that, from a historical view, the points you make hold water.
The decision may become easy as time passes. With the weakening of the Big 3, advertisement dollars will be cut, and in reality that is the main reason Detroit has kept this game. As with most decisions pro leagues make, the almighty dollar will dictate future Thanksgiving day games.
